Labour Hours Utilisation

The labour hours utilisation rate is the ratio between actual hours worked and potential hours worked.

Actual hours worked combines:

• for employed persons, the actual hours worked (seasonally adjusted);
• for unemployed persons: zero.

Potential hours worked combines:

• for persons employed full time and persons unemployed looking for full time work: 40 hours per week;
• for persons employed part time and persons unemployed looking for part time work: 20 hours per week.
