Retail Energy Credit Indicators

Indicators of distressed customers from the retail performance monitoring by the Australian Energy Regulator. Latest data is reported for the quarter ending .

Notes:

• National total covers the jurisdictions subject to AER retail performance monitoring (the states included) and excludes WA, NT and Victoria.
• With respect of the Customers with Energy Debt measure, the rate is measured as customers with electricity or gas debts that are more than 90 days past due. For Tasmania, specifically for Aurora, this rate was misreported as all debts past due up until Quarter 2 2025. Consequently the apparent significant improvement in the proportion of energy debts for Tasmania from Quarter 3 2025 is the result of a correction to a reporting error by Aurora.
